GOLD, FRANKINCENSE, AND MYRRH
(GIFTS OF THE WISE MEN)
GOLD it was, the best they had
Offered freely, given glad
Lighted by the Natal Star
Drawn to Him from homes afar
FRANKINCENSE as well they brought
Righteous King of Earth they sought
A rich perfume to send with prayer
No taint of earth would dull the air
Kneeling 'fore the little Boy
In their hearts surfeit of joy
Now their journey just begun
'Cause they'd found God's newborn Son
Entering now the path of Love
Now they'd follow Him above
Soon H'ed grow into a man
Each soul seek as best He can
All depending on His grace
No one worthy of His face
Dying there for those He sought
MYRRH for burial, too, they brought
You and I can bring gifts too
Remember Him in all we do
Reach to others in their need
Help the weak, the hungry feed

The Star
The Star of Bethlehem it's called,
But Star of All it ought to be.
He shone as bright before the Fall
But came to earth to set men free.
He drew all people to His light,
The Magi in their majesty,
And people in far distant lands
Who waited long His Day to see.
He is my bright and shining Star;
He leads me where I ought to be,
And shows me, step by step, each day
Exactly what He wants of me.
He'll come again, a heavenly sign,
To reign on earth so righteously,
A thousand years to bring to pass
The plan His Father meant to be.
And then in glory with His Sire,
Forever, endlessly,
And with His faithful ones remain
For all eternity.
