Mothers Day 2002

I've heard it said that Mother's Day
(and Valentine's, and others)
Was made so businesses would gain,
And not so much for mothers.
But I appreciate the chance
For everyone at once
To recognize that from their births
Mom satisfied their wants.
Until the day she let them go
To face the world outside;
A sacrifice of love indeed,
Mixed with pain and pride.
I know that I could never pay
You back for all your care,
But maybe it will count if I
That love with others share.
I love you Mom, and hope you know.
That's what I'm trying to say.
I send this wish that you will have
A Happy Mother's Day.
