Sombat & Cherry

Sombat and Cherry, they have a café
Where the food is the best, and I really must say
That of all of the places in which I have ate
It's the only place I've had the Earth on a plate.
The food is sublime and the service is great.
And if you're in a hurry, you've not long to wait.
For they'll stir it up fast, add the spices to please
And just enough sugar, your taste buds to tease.
The place may be small, but it's got lots of heart,
And it's best if you come in and eat a la carte.
So my friend, if your wondering what you should eat
Then come in for the Thai food on SE Stark Street.

Where Goes the Year

January's darkness brightens.
February's snow delightens.
March's blustery spirit teases.
April's loving wetness pleases.
May's glad blossoms please the heart.
June's mild days do swiftly part.
July's a time of fun and play.
August's heat lasts night and day.
September's memories tear the eye.
October's colors fall and fly.
November's feasting casts out fear.
December's cheer will end the year.

Skies of Blue

Skies of blue are coming home.
May's blossoms spread already,
Though April's baths have barely come,
And March winds have turned steady.

The Rainy Season

Would you like to know the reason
Why I love this rainy season?
No, it's not the drops of rain,
But the life they bring again.
And it seems to refresh all,
Even humans, in its thrall.
Urging them to livelier motion,
Causing men to pledge devotion.
And even women may get silly
And flash their lashes willy-nilly.
What's there about March, April, May,
Or even June makes us this way?
I know it's not the moon up high;
Too many clouds are passing by.
Is there some magic in the air
To cause all creatures here to pair?
Or is it that we've had to stay
Inside of doors both night and day
Because of winter's icy track,
And like a spring we're bouncing back?

Treasures

What's left behind will be ignored.
The things I've saved will be restored.
The task of Life, I've understood.
Is leave the bad, and love the good.
I keep my treasures in my heart
That they from me may never part.
Each mem'ry placed there one by one
Where they'll remain when life is done.
When Death shall take the final air
Out from my flesh, they'll still be here
Within my soul, that when I rise
And go to dwell in brighter skies
It's then their fire will burn more bright,
When tears are dry and there's no night,
And though all else I'll leave behind,
The things I love will still be mine.
