My Title of Liberty

My Poems from 1981

My Love

Jane, my wife, is really nice,
To me, a treasure without price;
She is the apple of my eye,
And now and then she makes me pie.
She bakes me bread, bread pudding, too,
And does the dishes till she's through,
And cleans the house from floor to dome,
And looks to see me coming home.

Two Little Kittens

Josť is a tabby cat.
His color's kind of tan.
He lays around on furniture
As lazy as a man.

He begs for food before the dawn,
He laps it up and starts to yawn
He curls up on the dining chair
And exercises, shedding hair.

Tiger is his little pal.
We're lucky Tiger's not a gal,
'Cause all the same, they make a mess;
But I still love them, I confess.
